Frequently Asked Questions

What are wax melts?

Wax melts are wickless scented pieces of wax that are melted in a warmer to release the fragrance held within. They come in various shapes  and are gradually warmed in a wax warmer (not an oil burner) to melt the wax and fill your home with hours of scent. Unlike candles, the wax does not evaporate; only the scent dissipates. Once you can no longer smell the fragrance, you can soak up your used wax and start a new scent.

How do I use a wax melt?

Place your chosen wax melt into the dish of your wax warmer and allow it to melt and release its scent. Do not add anything else to the dish.

What is a wax warmer?

There are 2 main type of wax warmer; tealight and electric.

Tea light warmers are most common and are usually ceramic with a bowl/dish above a tea light candle. These are sometimes confused with oil burners. The main differences between wax and oil burners are the size of the dish and distance from the top of the tealight to the dish. Wax warmers have larger bowls/dishes on top and the dish is further away from the tealight flame. This is to ensure the wax is warmed not burned,  If you are ever unsure contact your wax warmer supplier or read the guidance that it was supplied with.

Electric warmers are flameless and are powered by electricity. These can include small plug in warmers or warmers that come with a cord.

What is the best wax warmer?

I don't belive there is one right answer to this, it all depends on your circumstances. Tea light warmers get hotter than electric so give off a stronger scent throw. This does however mean that wax doesn't last as long as it would in an electric warmer. I personally use both tea lights and electric warmers in different situations e.g Tea lights are great in my kitchen where I can put them up high away from pets and children and in this room I want to have really strong scents to hide cooking smells. In my lounge I prefer a more subtle background scent that lasts all day so I use an electric warmer that looks pretty and matches my decor.

Where can I find a list of your scents?

There is a scent list here: Scents. Please note not all products are available in all scents all the time. The shop shows all the current available products and each listing inlcudes a scent description.

What is the difference between pots, bars, wax pax etc?

The wax and scents are the same. The difference is simply the weight of the wax and how it is presented.  It is personal preference as to how you like your wax. Some prefer bars as they are easy to snap and mix, others prefer pots as they are neat to stack and store and others prefer shapes as they are pretty to look at.

Do you sell (anything) scent?

There is a search function in the top left of the shop page you can enter any keywords here and it will show you all scented with this in, e.g. A search for Vanilla will bring up Blueberry Vanilla, Black Raspberry & Vanilla, Vanilla hearts as well as other scents with vanilla within them and not just in the name.

What is the best way to remove used wax from the warmer?

The quickest way is to use a cotton wool ball to soak it up and then dispose of the cotton wool. Some warmers can be put in the freezer and the frozen wax simply pops out however not all burners are suitable so please check with the manufacturer before doing this.
